Beginners are always welcome. Your first session is free, so you are welcome to come along and give it a try. Just turn up wearing loose clothing, such as a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms.
If you would prefer to watch a session first that’s fine too, but we recommend getting involved!
Everyone on the mat was a novice once, so we understand that starting a new martial art can be daunting. We aim to provide a friendly club environment, where everyone can progress at their own pace, in a safe yet challenging atmosphere.
Please try to make sure you arrive 15 mins before the session starts so you have time to meet the instructor and ask any questions you may have.

A typical session begins with a warm up (where we get a light sweat on and prepare for the session), and then some falling practice (learning how to roll around and fall safely). The instructor demonstrates a technique, and we pair up to practice together, then more demonstrations, more practice, and so on. All of this will be done at a level appropriate for you, so that you won’t be pushed too hard or asked to do a technique that is too advanced for you.
